Blue-chip LB target eyeing official visit to Florida State

Florida State had one of its top targets in the 2027 class, elite linebacker Kaden Henderson, on campus for a visit on Thursday.

Earlier in the week, Henderson mentioned that FSU could make a major move in his recruitment if they blew him away. It's unclear if that was the case, but the visit did go well, and Henderson says that an official visit is something he's very interested in.

"They're definitely in a good position," Henderson told Noles247. "I definitely see myself being back here, maybe doing a midweek OV, maybe during the season. I think they're in good shape. I think this practice showed a lot. Defense was going crazy – good intensity. And that's something I want to be a part of."

Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami, and Texas A&M currently have official visits locked with Henderson during the summer.

Florida State has struggled mightily over the past two years with just seven victories. Henderson has made it clear that FSU needs to show improvement on the field, and he would like to be a part of it if that's the case.

Henderson also realizes that things can turn around at any point, which is why the Seminoles continue to be a contender in his recruitment.

"They're still in my recruitment," Henderson said. "Every school I'm going to this spring, I seriously see myself going there. There's so many things that can happen in this college football landscape. That's why I'm here right now, just because I know craziness can happen. I can definitely see myself being here. That's why I came back."

Henderson is the No. 24 player nationally and the No. 1 linebacker in the country per the 247Sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-2, 218-pounder is the No. 3 prospect in the state of Florida.

July 1 is the target date for Henderson's commitment.
