Blue Jay girls compete at Hawktree Golf Course Monday
Sep. 15—BISMARCK — It has been more than 10 years since Hawktree Golf Course has hosted a NDHSAA girls golf tournament — which is why, at the beginning of the 2025 season, Jamestown High School head coach Katie Hemmer said she was excited for Sept. 15.
"(Hawktree) is a very cool course," Hemmer said in the preseason interview. "I am not looking forward to the walk but if you are going to pick out courses to play in North Dakota, Hawktree is going to be one of them."
The Blue Jays placed 10th out of 11 teams on Monday with 389 points at Hawktree. Mandan won it seventh WDA meet of the season. Mandan sophomore Isabella Hale was the tournament medalist with an 80.
Senior Mylee Michel led the Blue Jay crew with an 89 while Belle Sjostrom and Braelyn Wiese carded scores of 97 and 98 respectively. Katelyn Monson (105) and Autumn Roberts (106) were the Jays' No. 4 and 5 golfers on Monday. Taylor Earnest did not record a score.
Jamestown will wrap up its regular season on Sept. 16 in Mandan. The meet is scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.
