Breaking down Tennessee's performance in overtime loss versus Georgia football
No. 3 Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) defeated No. 15 Tennessee (2-1, 0-1 SEC), 44-41 in overtime, on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.
The SEC contest was three hours, 53 minutes with 101,195 in attendance.
Georgia totaled 502 yards (304 passing, 198 rushing), while the Vols produced 496 yards (371 passing, 125 rushing). The Bulldogs had five penalties for 39 yards, were 2-for-3 in the red zone and recorded 50 minutes, 38 seconds in time of possession.
The Vols had 10 penalties for 82 yards, were 2-for-3 in the red zone and totaled 24 minutes, 15 seconds in time possession.
Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar completed 24-of-36 passing attempts for 371 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He also scored one rushing touchdown.
Star Thomas led the Vols in rushing yards (60), while Chris Brazzell II was Tennessee's leader in receiving yards (177). Brazzell II recorded six receptions and three touchdowns. Braylon Staley also scored one receiving touchdown for the Vols.
Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton completed 23-of-31 passing attempts for 304 yards and two touchdowns. Nate Frazier led the Bulldogs in rushing yards (73) and Colbie Young was Georgia's leader with 73 receiving yards.
