Around the NFL, there are certain teams that could use a quarterback a lot more than others. At the top of that list is the Pittsburgh Steelers, as it still remains uncertain what's going on with Aaron Rodgers. Some seem to believe that Rodgers will return to Pittsburgh, though he'll make his decision later in the offseason.
Others don't think the veteran will continue playing in the NFL, which puts a lot of pressure on Pittsburgh to figure things out over the next few weeks.
Looking for a trade, there could be a few young options out there for the Steelers to take a chance on, and one was recently proposed in a blockbuster deal.
Pittsburgh Steelers Receive: QB Anthony Richardson
Indianapolis Colts Receive: QB Mason Rudolph, Sixth Round Pick
“Make no mistake, as of right now, the Colts are getting the better NFL quarterback in this deal. Rudolph is exactly what they need. Last year, past the mid-point of the season, the Colts were 8-2 and the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Once Jones got hurt, they lost every single game, and eventually ended up finishing 8-9 and missing the playoffs,” Mark Morales-Smith of SI wrote.
I'm probably one of the few people who still has some belief in Anthony Richardson.
Not to say that the kid is going to be a star one day, but he has all the tools in the world to be something. It's fair to mention that those tools have to show up in games, but I really think that in the right situation, he can be a good player. For the Steelers and new head coach Mike McCarthy, that could be the case.
