Commanders CB Mike Sainristil not concerned where he'll play in 2025

He's no longer a rookie, so what is the plan for Mike Sainristil in his second season?
In 2024, the Commanders initially had the Michigan Wolverine rookie at slot corner. However, Emmanuel Forbes, only in his second season, struggled, as did outside corner Benjamin St-Juste. The Commanders moved Sainristil to the outside to see if that might be an improvement. Saintristil adapted nicely, remained outside, resulting in the Commanders cutting Forbes during the season.
In 2025, the Commanders drafted Trey Amos, hoping he could play outside along Marshon Lattimore. So will Sainristil be moved back inside this season?
"It's up to the coaches, wherever they need me, that will be my focus" said Sainristil. "If you guys want me inside this week, that is where I will be. If you want me outside next week, I'll be outside. To me, it doesn't matter. How can I be on the field helping the defense have success? How can I help this team win?"
With the experience at both corner positions last year, Sainristil was already talking Wednesday about making sure he studies both positions in the meeting rooms and stays focused regarding what both corners' responsibilities are in various situations.

Perhaps Scott Abraham watched the world's top-ranked golfer, Scottie Scheffler, last week at The Open championship tournament. Scheffler discussed his life's priorities, which far exceed his golfing career. Abraham Wednesday asked Sainristil, "What is your why? What drives you? What is your 'why' ultimately?"
"I just know my parents gave up everything they had in Haiti," said Sainristil. "They moved the family to America to give us a chance to do something in life, to be something in life. So for me, I was blessed to be able to play this game and I am going to use this game to be able to provide for my family."
"God has allowed me to do great things. I've been able to meet people I never dreamed I would meet. Everything that I am working toward is in God's plans. I am just using this game as a vehicle to get to many different avenues in life."
"I want to be great now for my family, my wife. I have a daughter at home. I have another daughter on the way. So, just being able to provide, make sure that my kids are going to be good when it is their time."
In 2024, Sainristil played in all 17 games, starting 16. He intercepted two passes, while defending 14, forcing one fumble and recovering one. Returning to the state of Michigan to face the Detroit Lions in the second round of the playoffs, Sainristil had two interceptions against the Lions in a 45-31 Washington win.
