Conor McGregor has been given another reminder of his worth to the UFC thanks to a recent report.

The Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano card has brought back a level of competition for the top spot in the fight business that the UFC hasn’t seen in a while.

Many of its biggest stars have either moved on or retired, but the organisation still holds one card that outshines any other when it comes to pulling power and attention.

McGregor is currently working towards another comeback, and some recent numbers gave him fresh material to remind everyone why he’s still the sport’s biggest name.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, released on March 27, included pay-per-view buy numbers for several UFC events across 2024 and 2025.

UFC 300 led the way, as expected, pulling in a reported 615,000 buys at $79.99 each.

After the numbers were shared on X, McGregor responded by saying, “My last one done more than all of these combined.”

Among the six cards mentioned in the report was UFC 301 from Brazil. As expected, it didn’t do well coming off the heels of UFC 300. Alexandre Pantoja’s win over Steve Erceg headlined a card that failed to hit six figures.

Since then, the UFC has shifted away from pay-per-view in the United States. They’ve moved to a subscription model through Paramount+ instead.

Is McGregor right about outselling those six events combined?

Going by the reported numbers, McGregor’s claim holds up, though only just.

His trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier reportedly pulled in 1.8 million buys, according to the Sports Business Journal, making it the second-biggest PPV in UFC history.

On the other hand, the six events from 2024 and 2025 add up to a total of 1.782 million buys. So, while he did outsell them as a group, it wasn’t by much.
