Cowboys lose All-Pro corner for Week 7 to concussion suffered at home

The Cowboys defense has taken yet another hit ahead of their Week 7 matchup with the Commanders, as Dallas All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs has been ruled out of Sundays game against Washington with a concussion.

Diggs had been listed on the team's injury report all week with a knee injury, but practiced fully all week. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters that a late night incident at home will keep Diggs from playing Sunday.

The Dallas defense has been under fire all season and currently ranks dead-last in the league in several categories. They are coming off a Carolina loss that saw them give up 30 points for the fourth-straight game.

Diggs himself has not played up to his normal stand since returning from a knee injury that ended his 2024 campaign prematurely. According to PFF, he has allowed 11 receptions on 15 targets for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The silver-lining in all of this is that Washington may be without their two starting wideouts against Dallas. NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Terry McLaurin has been ruled out leaving Deebo Samuel as the primary option if he can go.

Former Cowboys wideout Noah Brown was placed on injured reserve and will miss the opportunity to play against the team that drafted him.

With Diggs out, reserve corner Kaiir Elam figures to replace him in the starting lineup.
