Do recent signs point to Jaguars making another trade before deadline?

Does the latest salary-cap-creating move by the Jacksonville Jaguars tell us that there is more to come?

On Tuesday, it was reported by Spotrac that the Jaguars had adjusted Greg Newsome's contract for the 2025 season, which freed up $7 million in cap space for the 2025 season.

This cap-creating maneuver comes on the heels of GM James Gladstone adjusting the contracts of Walker Little and Dyami Brown just last week.

Following the trade for Newsome, which ate up over $8 million in 2025 cap space, the Jaguars ranked 32nd in the NFL in salary cap room. But now, with $12.3 million in space available, the Jaguars rank 15th, according to Over the Cap.

The NFL's trade deadline is November 4th, and the Jaguars appear primed to make a deal.

Along with the additional cap room they now have to make a trade, Ian Rapoport reported over the weekend that the Jaguars "might not be done trading," specifically that they are looking for more help on defense and "likely up front."

After the Jaguars traded for Newsome, Gladstone also had this to say in a statement:

"We will continue to be aggressive, to make us the best possible team this season," said James Gladstone.

Of course, in order for a trade to happen, it takes two teams, but it certainly looks and sounds like the Jaguars aren't done shaping the 2025 roster.
