Five-star forward Tajh Ariza to visit Longhorns basketball

While the Texas Longhorns have been busy the last two weeks improving their 2025 roster, they have kept their eyes on the future. On Friday, they got good news on the recruiting front when Tajh Ariza announced his fall visits. The California native, who is one of the top forwards in the 2026 class, will visit four programs, including the Longhorns. 

His recruiting tour will start with a visit to Oregon on September 6, followed by a visit to North Carolina on September 12. Eight days later, Ariza will be in California to visit with USC. Although the date for his trip to the Forty Acres has not been announced, it will likely occur during the last week of September. 

If the Longhorns are able to land the son of former NBA star Trevor Ariza, their 2026 class will get a significant boost. Currently, the St. John Bosco High School product is ranked as the eighth-best player in his class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the fifth-best prospect from California. Due to his high ranking, many of the top programs in the nation have shown interest in adding Ariza to their offense.

Since becoming the Longhorns head coach just a few months ago, Sean Miller has quickly reshaped the roster. In a tough conference like the SEC, being able to attract prospects like Ariza will be key to sustained success. While the Longhorns are facing tough competition, it's a good sign that the small forward is willing to make a trip to Fort Acres. 

Over the next few months, Ariza will be a player to watch. He has the potential to be a scoring threat and comes from a family that knows what it takes to succeed at the college and NBA level. Regardless of where he ends up, Alriza will be an entertaining player to watch at the college level.
