Three months after sustaining a gunshot wound to the back of the head, Florida State linebacker Ethan Pritchard returned Tallahassee for the Seminoles' matchup against Virginia Tech on Saturday. Pritchard and his family joined Florida State for the Legacy Walk to the stadium.

The freshman linebacker, who sat in a motorized wheelchair, had his jersey draped over his legs, greeting fans along the way. FSU coach Mike Novall walked alongside him at the front of the procession.

Pritchard was hospitalized in early September after being shot while in a car on Aug. 31 in Havana, Florida, where he was visiting family. Pritchard spent a month in the hospital before being released last month to head to a rehab facility.

Four people were arrested in September in connection with the shooting, with three of those people charged with attempted murder.

Pritchard, a four-star recruit from Sanford, FL, did not play in the Seminoles' home opener on Aug. 30 prior to the shooting.

Florida State has made sure to honor and acknowledge Pritchard throughout the season. During FSU's Week 2 game against East Texas A&M, the first since the shooting, Pritchard's father Earl was honored during the matchup. The Seminoles wore No. 35 wristbands during that game, and FSU safety Earl Little Jr. held Pritchard's No. 35 jersey during the pre-game coin toss.

During Saturday's walk, Earl also carried the Seminoles' sledgehammer, an honor awarded within the program.
