Former Saints great Terron Armstead on watching training camp from the outside looking in

The New Orleans Saints have had plenty of retirements of their own this offseason, with five players either actively on the roster or having last played for them calling it quits in the last few months. Another former player of theirs also hung up the cleats this offseason, as one of their best offensive linemen in recent memory, Terron Armstead, formally retired.

Armstead spent the last two seasons of his career with the Miami Dolphins, and after quite a few injuries piled up over a few seasons, it was time to move on to other goals for the veteran offensive tackle. He had a legendary career with the Saints, protecting Drew Brees and working alongside fellow 2025 retiree Ryan Ramczyk, and now he can go enjoy life off the field.

In a recent social media post, Armstead discussed what he was feeling as training camp kicked off around the league, and how he is pursuing life off the field on his 34th birthday:

1st time in a very very long time I didn’t report to training camp!! It’s interesting seeing all my guys back with their teams ready to attack another nfl season!! But for me I’m in a brand new season! A season of growth and development! I’m working hard like I’m still playing, but it’s this sport called Life!!! I’m excited, I’m grateful, I thank GOD for EVERYTHING!!! Let’s see what this new year brings!

It's great to see Armstead is enjoying life and working hard towards his goals, as that is all you can ask for former players as they move on from their career.
