The field will be narrowed to five finalists upon the completion of the regular season at the end of February. The winner of the 2026 Ms. Basketball Award will be announced at the WIAA state girls basketball tournament, scheduled for March 12-14 in Ashwaubenon at the Resch Center.
The award has been awarded to seniors only since 2002. Nominees and selection are completed by a committee of WBCA Executive Board members.
The Milwaukee area has won the award in two of the last three seasons. Pewaukee's Amy Terrian won the honor in 2025, while current Connecticut guards Allie Ziebell (2024, Neenah) and Kamorea "KK" Arnold (2023, Germantown) won the previous two awards.
