Friday Headlines; Valparaiso Gameday Edition

Kentucky basketball will suit up for their second game of the regular season tonight as they host Valparaiso in Rupp Arena.

The No. 9 Wildcats started off slow but eventually pulled away in Tuesday night’s 77-51 win over Nicholls.

Kentucky had to start their regular season without point guard Jaland Lowe who suffered an injury in the preseason, leaving the team short-handed not only in the backcourt but also leaving the Wildcats without a true floor general.

Lowe is expected to return t0 action tonight after missing a preseason game and the season opener, which should provide a major boost for Kentucky.

However, the Wildcats could very well be without sophomore guard Trent Noah who turned an ankle in Tuesday night’s win and didn’t return.

Injuries are incredibly unideal at any point in the season but Kentucky head coach Mark Pope would surely grind through an injury bug right now rather than during the midst of Southeastern Conference play OR during March Madness.

Despite missing star forward Jayden Quaintance and (likely) Noah, the Wildcats are currently 34.5-point favorites with ESPN’s Basketball Power Index giving Kentucky a 98.5 percent chance to win.

Tip-off tonight is scheduled for 7 PM ET with coverage on SEC Network PLUS and the UK Radio Sports Network.
