Germany's Skibbe appointed Vissel Kobe coach
Germany's Michael Skibbe has been appointed coach at J-League top side Vissel Kobe, the club said on Sunday.
The 60-year-old had formerly been in charge of Sanfrecce Hiroshima and won the Japanese League Cup twice with them.
The 2023 and 2024 champions Kobe came fifth, behind Hiroshima, in the past J-League season which ended last weekend. Skibbe is the second German to coach at the club, following Thorsten Fink who was in charge 2019-2020.
Skibbe coached Bundesliga clubs including Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt and was German national team assistant coach. He was Greece national team coach and has also been in charge at clubs in Turkey, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.
