How important is Sam Hauser's shooting for the Boston Celtics?

Under Joe Mazzulla, the Boston Celtics have developed a perimeter-based offensive identity. They lean into the math game, taking and making a considerable amount of threes. Therefore, having elite catch-and-shoot threats is an essential part of Boston's game plan, and that's where Sam Hauser comes into the equation.

After a slow start to the season, Hauser is leading the NBA in made threes throughout the month of January. He's 48-of-101 from deep, giving him a 47.5% conversion rate. That level of sharpshooting undoubtedly provides a new dimension to Mazzulla's offense, creating the necessary space for interior threats such as Jaylen Brown and Neemias Queta to do some damage in and around the paint.

In a recent episode of "Sound Off" on the Celtics YouTube page, host Marc D'Amico dissects the importance of Hauser's shot-making ability and the positive impact it has on the rest of the roster. D'Amico also dives into how Hauser's scoring gravity is creating opportunities elsewhere on the floor for the Celtics.
