AUBURN — The strength of Auburn baseball's latest squad has been its lineup, and that starts with Ike Irish.
The junior catcher-turned-outfielder has impressed all season. With multiple first-round projections for the upcoming MLB Draft, he has proven he's one of the purest hitters at the college level. He took to form near the start of SEC play, returning from an injury on a road trip to Kentucky in late March. Since then, he has poured it on opposing pitchers.
Heading into the Tigers' Super Regional against Coastal Carolina, Irish led Auburn in several categories, including batting average (.362), home runs (18), RBIs (57), and slugging percentage. (.700)
