Hubert Davis provides injury update for key UNC basketball player
The North Carolina Tar Heels had a rough week injury-wise. Despite going 1-1 during the week, including a loss at Miami, the biggest losses came in the form of injuries.
Caleb Wilson suffered a fractured hand in the loss to Miami, a big loss for the Tar Heels. Wilson's timetable is still unknown at the moment but he likely will be out a total of 3-4 weeks. But the news got worse prior to Saturday's win over Pitt.
Henri Veesaar was ruled OUT for the game just minutes before tipoff dealing with an illness as well as an injury he also suffered against Miami. UNC was able to get that win without either of their two top players but the future of this season is what is in jeopardy. But some good news might be on the way.
As North Carolina prepares for a trip to Raleigh to face off against NC State on Tuesday night, head coach Hubert Davis provided a key update on Veesaar during his weekly radio show.
"He's getting a lot better," Davis said on his radio show Monday night.
The head coach went on to say Veesaar made a “major jump” today in his recovery from illness and a lower-body injury.
#UNC coach Hubert Davis said on his radio show that Henri Veesaar made a “major jump” today in his recovery from illness and a lower-body injury. He added they'll evaluate him again tomorrow to determine his availability against NC State.

There's no guarantee that Veesaar plays on Tuesday night but that's certainly some good news from Davis in terms of the long-term impact. Veesaar will be another game-time decision on Tuesday as the Tar Heels face a very important game against the Wolfpack.
