Indiana Fever Send 3-Word Message to Pacers After Advancing in NBA Playoffs
The Indiana Pacers continued their unlikely NBA playoff run by knocking off the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers and advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Now, they're getting some love from their WNBA counterparts.
The Pacers shook off a cold first quarter, surging to beat the Cavaliers 114-109 in the deciding Game 5 on Tuesday. After the game, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle gave his team credit for knocking off one of the NBA's top contenders.
“I have to give our guys credit, they earned this,” Carlisle said. “This was one of the best teams in the league. I’m sorry their season had to end like this. They had the perfect season, and we came along and were hot at the right time."
The Indiana Fever never doubted their hometown counterpart. The WNBA team took to social media after the win to show their faith in the Pacers.
"NOW THEY KNOW," the team wrote in a message celebrating the win.

The WNBA team has been a consistent supporter of the Pacers, with star guard Caitlin Clark sitting courtside for Game 4.
Not many others had faith in the Pacers, however. As Carlisle noted, oddsmakers were against the No. 4 seed in all five games of the series.
“We were not favored in one game. The lowest point spread was 5½. That was something that fueled our guys, too," Carlisle said.
The Pacers now advance to face the winner of the series between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks, with the Knicks holding a 3-1 lead.
