The Indianapolis Colts' 2025 season had so much promise. Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor were playing great.

But when injuries came to the spotlight, the Colts' season fell off the rails, and there was an unexpected Philip Rivers chapter. The hope, with Jones and Alec Pierce signed to big extensions, is that the season ahead can realize the full potential they were showing. The 2026 NFL Draft can only help.

The Colts used big money this offseason, so finding quality players on these affordable rookie deals is a big part of what will help the Colts be successful going forward.

One important note: No first-round pick scheduled for the Colts. It went to the Jets in the Sauce Gardner trade.

With the first round on Thursday, second and third rounds on Friday and fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday, we'll be keeping track here of everything the Colts do during the draft.

Colts NFL Draft needs

  • EDGE: The Colts lost Kwity Paye this offseason but haven't really replaced him. It'll be tough to find a great one without a first-round pick, but it's still a spot to pursue.
  • Linebacker: The Colts traded Zaire Franklin to the Packers. They'll need to start working on a replacement for the tackling machine.
  • Wide receiver: Pierce signed a big deal, but Michael Pittman Jr. was traded to the Steelers. Indy could use more depth.

It was part of the package that went to the New York Jets for cornerback Sauce Gardner.

It slots in as the No. 16 overall pick, but the Jets will get to use it.
