Indoor Football League Week 3 viewer's guide

Week 3 of the Indoor Football League will kick off this weekend, with a four-game slate featuring the defending champions and the No. 2 team in the IFL coaches' poll.

IFL Players of the Week

Green Bay Blizzard quarterback Liam Thompson is the Week 2 Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row after he posted seven touchdowns in a monster performance against Fishers Freight. San Diego Strike Force defensive back Elijah Reed earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, and while Quad City Steamwheelers kicker Jan Bogdan was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

The 1-0 San Diego Strike Force will face the Arizona Rattlers on Saturday, coming off a thrilling 42-40 win against the Northern Arizona Wranglers. The game went down to the wire, with the Rattlers missing a two-point conversion that would have forced overtime. Leading the Strike Force is running back Edward Vander, a power back who contributed four touchdowns and rushed for 63 yards.

Looking to avenge their loss, the 0-1 Northern Arizona Wranglers face the Jacksonville Sharks, who will make their debut on Saturday. Quarterback Ramone Atkins leads the Wranglers; he finished with 174 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns and three interceptions against the Strike Force.

The Tulsa Oilers and San Antonio Gunslingers will also be making their debut on Sunday, while the Vegas Knight Hawks and Tucson Sugar Skulls will look to get their first win of the season.

The 0-1 Vegas Knight Hawks lost to the Green Bay Blizzard in the Hall of Fame game after Blizzard quarterback and Week 1’s Player of the Week Liam Thompson threw a go-ahead touchdown with 4:25 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Las Vegas Knight Hawks are the defending IFL champions.
