Iowa women's basketball signee, recruit named to Naismith watch list
With the future of Iowa women's basketball on the rise, the program and its fans have yet another reason to be excited. The 2025-26 Jersey Mike's Naismith Girls’ High School Player of the Year Watch List tabbed Hawkeye signee McKenna Woliczko and five-star recruit Addison Bjorn among the players on its watch list.
Woliczko officially submitted her papers to join the Iowa program for the 2026-27 season on Wednesday, Nov. 12, sparking great excitement within the program and creating a great moment of celebration for her family.
The San Bruno, Calif., native and senior at Archbishop Mitty High School is ranked as the nation's No. 6 player by ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports. According to 247Sports, Woliczko is the country's No. 2 power forward and the No. 2 player from California.

Along with Iowa, the talented star from the Show-Me State is also considering Kansas, Notre Dame, Texas, Connecticut, Duke, and North Carolina. Bjorn recently took her final official visit to Kansas.
Similar to the collegiate version of the Naismith Player of the Year Awards, the list will be trimmed in February, and finalists will be revealed in March.
