Jaguars acquire No. 2 pick in blockbuster trade with Browns
The first trade of the 2025 NFL Draft was a big one.
According to ESPN’s Adam Scheter, the Jaguars and the Cleveland Browns agreed to a blockbuster trade that will give Jacksonville the No. 2 pick in the draft.
Here are the full details of the trade, per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
The Browns will receive: 5th overall pick (1st round), 36th overall pick (2nd round), 126th overall pick (4th round) and 2026 1st round pick Jaguars receive: 2nd overall pick (1st round), 104th overall pick (4th round), 200th overall pick (6th round)
The Jaguars selected Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter with the pick. He’ll immediately upgrade Jacksonville’s offense and defense, providing a weapon for Trevor Lawrence as well as protection for the quarterback.
At one point, it was believed the Browns would stay at No. 2 and draft Hunter. But Cleveland will likely target a quarterback with the No. 5 pick.
The Browns have a hole at the position after Deshaun Watson re-tore the same Achilles he ruptured in October, putting his status beyond 2025 in doubt. They have Joe Flacco in their QB room, and he’s expected to compete for the starting job this summer.
