Jalen Davis' clutch play leads Bremerton to state basketball title
Jalen Davis asserted himself as one of the best young guards in the country last year as he earned 2A tournament MVP in Bremerton's (WA) championship as a sophomore. As a junior, he elevated his game another level — and took home another championship MVP after clutch finishes to the semifinals and title games.
Trailing by a point to Columbia River (Vancouver, WA) with 3.3 seconds left in overtime on March 6, Davis dribbled the length of the court and got off a layup as the buzzer went off. It fell, and Bremerton escaped from the jaws of defeat. Yakima Herald reporter Luke Thompson was there to capture the video:

He finished with 27 points, according to the Kitsap Sun, and was the only shot he attempted in overtime. He made it count, giving Bremerton the 55-54 victory.
The championship came against 26-0 R.L. Long (Longview, WA) on March 7, and Bremerton trailed late again. But the Knights scored the final seven points, including a layup by Davis and a pair of free throws from the star guard to put his team up 45-43 with 4.4 seconds remaining in the game.
That would be the final points of the game, and Bremerton won its second consecutive championship with Davis as the leader on the court and his father, Miah Davis, at the helm as head coach.
It was a finish the team needed for an athlete who has been stellar all year long. He scored a 51 points in a game in December, and over the first half of the season, he averaged 34.5 points, 9.9 rebounds and 6.6 steals as Bremerton raced out to a 13-1 start, according to MaxPreps.
The Knights never slowed down, and Davis showed once again that he can make an impact in March just as powerful as in December.
Davis is ranked No. 19 overall and the No. 2 combo guard on the 247Sports' Composite rankings for the class of 2027. He has 14 offers, including a number of in-state schools, headlined by Gonzaga and Big 12 runner-up Houston.
