The New York Jets came back down to earth in Week 2 following a promising 32-point performance in Week 1.

The Jets were blown out 30-10 by the Buffalo Bills, who are legitimate Super Bowl contenders. It was a harsh reminder that the 2025 campaign is one of reflection and culture-building for Aaron Glenn's squad.

Quarterback Justin Fields completed 3-of-11 passing attempts. Tanner Engstrand's offense mustered a lackluster 154 yards. It was downright ugly.

Veteran guard John Simpson spoke with the media following Sunday's uninspiring defeat. Simpson reminded Jets fans that the team is undergoing a lengthy rebuild. Difficult times will eventually lead to better results.

"It'll come," Simpson responded to a question about becoming a more consistent team. "These times that we're going through now are going to create good times in the future. We need continuity, to continue to gel. We've got to keep putting our head down, go to work, and do your job."

The Jets' next opportunity to grow their continuity will arrive in a difficult Week 3 spot on the road against a 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers team.

Fields is in the concussion protocol, meaning veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor could get the start. More difficult days are ahead for Glenn's Jets.

Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 season.
