Jonathan Smith names 'most improved' position group for Spartans in 2025

Which position group are you expecting to be most improved this season for the Spartans? Head coach Jonathan Smith's response may surprise you, but also should excite you.

Smith spoke at Big Ten Football Media Days on Thursday afternoon, answering a number of questions from the media in attendance in Las Vegas. One of the more notable questions he answered was related to which position group he believes is the most improved from last year. His answer: the offensive line.

Per a post on social media from Stephen Brooks of 247Sports, Smith said he has "full confidence" in the offensive line taking a step forward next season. Part of the expected improvement for the offensive line from Smith is the added competition and depth from the transfer portal additions.

Michigan State's offensive line has struggled in recent years, especially during Smith's first year as the Spartans head coach after some early season injuries. Should the Spartans truly be improved in this area like Smith is expecting, then I personally have really high hopes for the Michigan State offense in 2025.
