Josh Reynolds promoted to Tennessee baseball pitching coach after Frank Anderson exit | Source
Josh Reynolds is being promoted to pitching coach on the Tennessee baseball staff, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told Knox News.
The source spoke on the condition of anonymity because Reynolds' promotion has not been announced publicly.
Reynolds spent the 2025 season as the director of pitching performance, but now moves into the pitching coach spot on Josh Elander's staff following the departure of Frank Anderson to the Giants.
Reynolds spent one season at Cincinnati and has been in college baseball for more than two decades before he was hired in July 2024 by Tennessee. Reynolds previously coached at Colorado, Northwestern and Kansas State. He was a third-round pick by the New York Mets in the 2000 MLB Draft and spent time in the minor leagues before shifting to coaching in 2004.
Reynolds joins Chuck Jeroloman and Ross Kivett as the full-time assistants coaches on Elander's staff. Elander hired Jeroloman from Florida to be the associate head coach. Kivett is the recruiting coordinator.
Anderson initially was announced as returning to Tennessee after Elander was hired on Oct. 25, but he exited to join the Giants and former Vols coach Tony Vitello. He is the second UT staff member to follow Vitello to San Francisco after he was hired as the Giants manager on Oct. 22.
Strength coach Quentin Eberhardt left to be San Francisco's director of performance, sources told Knox News on Nov. 14. UT hired Keegan Knoll to be the strength coach following Eberhardt's departure. Knoll brings eight years of MLB experience to UT's staff.
