Tennessee pitcher Karlyn Pickens was named to Softball America's Preseason All-America First Team on Tuesday.

She had a 25-11 record with a 1.17 ERA over 226.2 innings pitched during the 2025 campaign. Pickens recorded 306 strikeouts and held batters to 4.45 hits per seven innings. The two-time defending SEC Pitcher of the Year appeared in 44 games last season, making 34 starts and pitching 25 complete games. Pickens recorded three saves and pitched seven shutouts.

She helped the Lady Vols advance to the 2025 College World Series. Tennessee reached the semifinals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the SEC Pitcher of the Week and NFCA Pitcher of the Week three times last season, when she recorded the fastest pitch in history on two occasions in 2025.
