LSU Women's Basketball Schedule: Who does LSU play next?

LSU women's basketball beat Jacksonville on Friday to advance to the next round of the NCAA Tournament. In the round of 32, the Tigers will meet the No. 7-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders. Texas Tech beat Villanova in Baton Rouge on Friday afternoon.

The winner of LSU vs. Texas Tech will punch a ticket to the Sweet 16.

In LSU's win on Friday, the Tigers were led by 20 points from star guard Flau'Jae Johnson. She only played 23 minutes, but was efficient, shooting 7-14 from the field. Mikaylah Williams added 18 points while Jada Richard scored 17. LSU won 116-58. That's what the Tigers were expected to do vs. an opponent of Jacksonville's caliber.

Texas Tech provides a tougher challenge, though LSU should still be the heavy favorite. Texas Tech ranks 36th in HerHoopsRating and is 26-7 on the year. The Red Raiders are led by Bailey Maupin, who leads the team with 15.1 points per game. Snudda Collins adds 14.6 per night while Jalynn Bristow also averages double-digits.

If LSU advances to the Sweet 16, it will be the Tigers' fourth-straight year doing so under Kim Mulkey. LSU won a national title in 2023, before being sent home in the Elite 8 in 2024 and 2025.

LSU will face Texas Tech at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday at the PMAC in Baton Rouge. The game will be on ABC.
