Luis Palma linked with Celtic exit as Sevilla eye stunning switch
Luis Palma is being linked with a summer move to La Liga side Sevilla. The Honduran midfielder is currently on loan at Lech Poznan in Poland but is attracting interest from Spain.
Sevilla sit just above the relegation zone and reports in Spain via The Sun claim that Palma is a summer target, if they stay up. It would be an impressive move for Palma but one that could end up with Celtic being stiffed if Poznan secure the permanent signing by exercising their option and then selling to Spain.
Signed during the infamous summer of 2023 as the replacement for Jota, Palma made 48 appearances for Celtic before a loan to Olympiacos was followed by the switch to Poznan. The move to Spain would probably suit Palma, who was very technical but not the quickest. The intensity of the Scottish game often caught him out, even if he showed glimpses of what he was capable of.
Palma scored 10 and assisted 10 in his time at Celtic, he appears to have replicated this form with Poznan, scoring 8 and assisting 9 in 40 appearances. It remains to be seen whether Celtic would entertain any talk of an exit without a manager or a head of football operations in place.
Palma has spoken about wanting to make it at Celtic and there will certainly need to be a period that he is given to see whether he is part or whether he should be moved on.
