Miami senior Malik Reneau earns late invitation to G League combine

Miami forward Malik Reneau was added as a participant for the 2026 G League combine, which will take place May 8-10 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

Reneau was selected to the All-ACC first team, averaging 18.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 54% from the field in 35 appearances. He ranked third in the conference in 20-point double-doubles (6) and 17th in 2-point field goals (210).

The 6-foot-9 forward wasn't among the 44 prospects on the initial invitation list unveiled on Saturday. He will now have the opportunity to compete in 5-on-5 games, strength and agility testing, shooting drills, measurements and other related on-court exercises.

Reneau emerged as one of the top performers last month during the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, an annual event for the top seniors in the country. He was a PIT All-Tournament selection, averaging 18.3 points, seven rebounds and one block in three games.

The 23-year-old is considered a possible second-round pick this year because of his interior scoring, physicality and rebounding ability. He also took a step forward as a floor spacer, converting 34.7% from beyond the arc (26-of-75).

The top performers in the G League combine will be invited to the draft combine, taking place May 10-17 at the Wintrust Arena and Marriott Marquis. Last year, Yanic Konan Niederhäuser and Ryan Nembhard were among those who advanced to the draft combine.
