Michigan State basketball still in Top-15 in latest polls despite loss
Friday night was a rough one for Michigan State basketball, as the Spartans got absolutely thumped by Wisconsin on the road in a one-sided loss. The Spartans went into that match-up ranked at No. 10, thanks to their big win at home the weekend before against Illinois. The loss to the Badgers did cause MSU to fall in both the AP and Coaches Polls, but not as much as you might expect. Michigan State came in at No. 15 in both polls on Monday.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Michigan is standing alone on center stage as the only 1-loss team in the country (ironically, their one loss came to Wisconsin). Purdue jumped back up to No. 7 after beating Nebraska. Nebraska and Illinois are at nine and ten, respectively. Wisconsin, to their credit, was able to use the MSU win to jump into the Top-25, coming in at No. 25. They stole that spot from Iowa, who held 25 last week.
