As we turn the page to the offseason, the future of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans remains up in the air.
Not only could retirement be on the table for the 32-year-old, it's also possible he and the Buccaneers will part ways, as Evans is a pending free agent.
When it comes to the possibility of retirement, ESPN's Jenna Laine reports that Evans is "less likely" to retire than his teammate, linebacker Lavonte David.
She also wonders if Evans might be looking for a change of scenery if he wants a better shot at winning a Super Bowl as his career winds down.
"Evans, 32, is less likely to retire [than David], based on conversations with those closest to him," Laine reported. "But how much does being left out of the 2025 playoffs eat at Evans, knowing he has only so much time left?"
The Bucs experienced a brutal collapse in 2025. After jumping out to a 6-2 record, Tampa Bay lost seven of its last nine games and missed the playoffs.
If Evans is looking for a better chance to win a Super Bowl, he could have his eyes on teams like the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, all of whom are true contenders and need help at wide receiver.
The Bills appear to have struck out on Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer was a total bust after the Bills signed him in free agency, leaving Buffalo with a suspect pass-catcher group headlined by Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid.
In Denver, the Broncos need another veteran wideout to complement Courtland Sutton. The Broncos have some promising young weapons but need a proven addition.
The Patriots are in a similar boat as the Broncos, with New England sporting a solid No. 1 option in Stefon Diggs and some promising but unproven wideouts behind him.
If Evans doesn't return to the Bucs, he's going to have plenty of suitors in free agency, and we'd expect the Pats, Broncos and Bills to be among them.
