Mike Vrabel provides update on Patriots' defensive coordinator Terrell Williams
Before the New England Patriots' Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, head coach Mike Vrabel revealed that defensive coordinator Terrell Williams stepped away from the team due to undisclosed health reasons.
And now, Vrabel has provided an update on Williams on Monday morning when speaking with reporters.
“I think Terrell is in good spirits. Appreciate you asking. Terrell will be around,” Vrabel said. “I don’t quite fully know in what capacity, but he will be around and involved, so we’ll continue to just make sure there is a good plan for everything that happens, just like we always have been.”
In Williams' absence, inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhr took over playcalling duties and even received a game ball from Vrabel after the team's 33-27 win.
During the spring, Williams was away from the team due to a serious health scare, but rejoined at the start of training camp. He also had an incident during the summer where he collapsed on the field, but that was said to have been caused by dehydration.
