Minnesota Vikings may avoid All-Pro edge rusher during 2025 season if traded

The Vikings have a tough start to the season with several pivotal matchups that will test the team on both sides of the ball. The person under the most pressure, of course, is first-year starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The defenses the team is going to face will have several prominent stars, but one may be on the move.

The Bengals recently announced they would be open to hearing trade offers for their All-Pro edge rusher, Trey Hendrickson.

If the Bengals find an offer they like and send him away before Week 3, it would allow the Vikings to avoid playing him. The Bengals would still have their first-round pick edge rusher in Shemar Stewart to cause problems, but taking Hendrickson out of the equation would be massive for the team.

McCarthy avoiding as much pressure early on in the season as he can would go a long way to getting him into a rhythm before the tough stretch of the season begins when the temps cool.
