Mizzou makes it two in one day, adds Chris Harris Jr.
Mizzou continued its hot streak on the recruiting trail as it secured its second weapon for future quarterback Braylen Warren in receiver Chris Harris Jr.
The announcement came just a couple hours after four-star tight end Jack Brown made his commitment. The news was teased by Eli Drinkwitz as part of a double commitment on Tuesday afternoon.
The 6’0, 175 pound receiver is a top-ranked player in Missouri and is a big addition to a future Tiger offense. Similar to Brown, Harris is an in-state talent and will spend his senior season at Lee’s Summit West. His rank floats right around the high three star and low four star range. This puts him as Mizzou’s second highest ranked recruit in the class behind newly-added Brown.
According to 247Sports, Harris gained nearly 1,300 scrimmage yards and almost 2,000 all-purpose yards as a junior. He caught 57 passes for 929 yards, while rushing 42 times for 366 yards (15 total TDs).
With one season left to go, he will look to continue building off his monster junior season. The Titans struggled as a team during Brown’s junior season, finishing 4-7.
With the Tigers adding Brown and now Harris, 2027 QB Braylen Warren is probably feeling pretty confident about what his future might look like. The big thing is, he can start building those connections now.
Plenty of top schools were into Harris including Alabama, who he has (or had) an official visit planned with this summer.
It looks like the hiring of Alex Atkins as Missouri’s tight ends coach is paying off and the transition from Brett Norfleet to Brown could potentially be seamless.
