The MVP race is heating up in the MLB with several familiar faces at the top of the polls.

On Tuesday, the MLB posted their official polls for the top players in the MVP conversation, putting Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani at the top of the list in the National League.  

After placing Ohtani over several other stars like Freddie Freeman, Corbin Carroll and Kyle Tucker, the Dodgers star received a big accolade from the MLB. 

Ohtani was officially announced as the Player of the Month for May, capping off the month with 

"Shohei Ohtani: .309 AVG, 1.180 OPS, 15 HR, 27 RBI Aaron Judge: .364 AVG, 1.251 OPS, 11 HR, 18 RBI," posted the official social media account of the MLB. "Your NL and AL Players of the Month for May presented by @Chevrolet!"

New York Yankees star Aaron Judge was announced as the American League Player of the Month alongside Ohtani.

After the announcement, some fans took to X to share their thoughts on Ohtani winning the National League Player of the Month. 

"Ohtani and Judge dominated May," one fan tweeted. 

"These guys are ridiculously good at baseball," another fan tweeted. 

"Big numbers will continue," one fan tweeted. 

"It should’ve been Devers," one fan tweeted. 

"That guy is an amazing ball player," one fan tweeted. 

"MVP’s doing MVP things," another fan tweeted.

The Dodgers also congratulated Ohtani via an X post for winning the NL Player of the Month for May.
