More off-field drama involving Chiefs' WR Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs have been made aware of another major off-field issue involving wide receiver Rashee Rice, who was suspended for the first six games of the 2025 season due to a suspected hit-and-run incident. The organization released a statement on the allegations, but declined to comment further.
"The club is aware of allegations made on social media and is in communication with the National Football League. We have no further comment at this time."
The allegations come from Dacoda Jones, who has two children with Rice and said in an Instagram post on Wednesday that she had broken up with him two months ago. She has accused Rice of putting his hands on her, locking her outdoors in 10-degree weather, multiple instances of cheating, cutting up her shoes and clothes, and abandoning the family in Kansas while leaving for his native Texas.
The pictures that were released show several bruises on Jones' face and body, as well as property damage in and around the home.
The issue at the beginning of the season, in which Rice would serve a six-game suspension, involved Rice driving a Lamborghini at high speed on a Dallas highway, racing a friend in a Corvette. The two cars collided, triggering criminal charges and a wave of lawsuits from the occupants. Rice would reach an $11.1 million settlement with the victims.
The Kansas City Chiefs were fully supportive of Rice during the last incident, and more details will be released in the future. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have dealt with another wide receiver this season who has had an off-field incident. Fellow WR Xavier Worthy's ex-fiancée was granted a protective order in March after accusing him of abuse.
