MSU basketball moves up in latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

In a big week that saw Michigan State basketball get two consecutive Big Ten wins at home, the Spartans are moving back up the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. MSU is now back up to No. 13 in the country, up two spots from last week's ranking of No. 15.

Last week, the Spartans blew out UCLA at home, a win that looks better this week after the Bruins beat Illinois over the weekend. Then, MSU was able to survive a tight game over an Ohio State team that recently beat a Wisconsin team that has a win over the Spartans this year.

There was quite a bit of movement in the Big Ten this week in the polls thanks to some big games:

  • Michigan falls to No. 3 after their loss to Duke
  • Purdue falls one spot to No. 8 after losing to Michigan
  • Nebraska down five spots to No. 10 after their loss to Iowa
  • Illinois falls from No. 6 down to 11 after getting shocked by UCLA
  • Wisconsin falls out of the top-25 after losing to Ohio State
