That nearly happened, according to a new report, as the duo briefly considered teaming up at Georgia prior to their freshman seasons.
Williams ultimately chose Alabama, while Smith committed to Ohio State. The rest is history.
But for Georgia quarterback commit Jared Curtis, the missed opportunity still lingers.
The No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class kept it short and sweet when he responded to the news on Instagram.

Curtis, a five-star from Nashville Christian School, is widely regarded as the top signal-caller in his class.

The 19-year-old racked up 1,315 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, both tops in the Big Ten. He played a crucial role in Ohio State’s national championship run—their first title since 2014.
