NBA Rookie of the Year: The opening odds after the 2025 NBA draft
The 2025 NBA draft is officially completed, with 59 players hearing their names called in a two-night format for the second straight year at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Duke forward Cooper Flagg was the first player selected on Wednesday by the Dallas Mavericks, becoming the sixth Blue Devils player to be chosen with the No. 1 pick. He was the overwhelming favorite to be the top choice after establishing himself as the Player of the Year last season.
Flagg enters the 2025-26 season with high expectations as the top pick and will be one of the front-runners to win the Rookie of the Year award. He is expected to play a significant role with the Mavericks and should have a productive rookie campaign.
The Rookie of the Year odds will certainly fluctuate throughout the upcoming season, which tips off on Oct. 21. The forthcoming NBA Summer League should influence the next batch of odds, with most of the rookie class expected to hit the court.
