NFC West continues to show Super Bowl dominance with Cardinals absent

The NFC West proved to be the best division in the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks, who won the division with a 14-3 regular season, are Super Bowl champions after a 29-13 dominant win in Super Bowl LX over the New England Patriots.

The Seahawks had to beat two NFC West teams to get there, knocking off the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round and the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.

It continues a run of dominance for the NFC West that has excluded the Cardinals.

Over the last eight Super Bowls, someone from the NFC West has been in it five times with two winning championships. The Rams made it twice, winning once. The 49ers made it twice, losing both times, and now the Seahawks made it and won it.

If we push it back to the last 14 Super Bowls, then the NFC West has represented the NFC eight times with three champions.

The 49ers made it three times, losing each time.

The Rams made it twice, winning once.

The Seahawks made it three times, winning twice.

Who is the red-headed stepchild? The Arizona Cardinals.

They are the only NFC West team not to make the Super Bowl over the last 14. They have only made the postseason three times in the time that the Seahawks and 49ers have made it to three Super Bowls. They have one postseason win while the Rams and Seahawks have won the Super Bowl a combined three times.

Will the Cardinals ever be able to level up and join the big boys?
