Ohio State Women's Hockey advances to fifth straight Frozen Four

The Ohio State women's hockey team, No. 1 overall seeds, has advanced to its fifth consecutive Frozen Four with a dominant 6-1 win over Yale in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Buckeyes littered the stat sheet, with four different players scoring goals, including two each by Sloane Matthews and Jocelyn Amos. Yale actually kept the game interesting for a while, scoring a first period goal and keeping it tied 1-1 at the first intermission, but the Buckeyes controlled play for most of the game and were never really under threat.

The Buckeyes will face No. 5 seed Northeastern on Friday (time not yet set) in University Park, Pennsylvania. The final will be in the same location on Sunday, March 22nd.

Northeastern upset Minnesota in their second-round matchup. While the Huskies are certainly a strong team, the matchup has to be a bit of a relief for the Buckeyes, as Minnesota is one of the two teams to beat Ohio State so far this year.

No. 2 seed Wisconsin and No. 3 seed Penn State will face off in the other semifinal, also on Friday.
