The young Algerian striker Amine Gouiri (25) was rushed for immediate care by his club, Olympique de Marseille, after sustaining a head and shoulder injury during the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Uganda.
Starting for the “Fennecs”, Gouiri was injured following a challenge from Ugandan goalkeeper Jamal Salim Magoola in the dying moments of the match.

Amine Gouiri injury: No serious concerns for the Algerian striker
Fortunately, medical tests provided reassuring news. According to French-Algerian journalist Walid Acherchour, the striker will only need a short rest period before returning to training.
He suffered a dislocated shoulder, which was promptly put back in place—similar to what happened during Olympique de Marseille’s match against Lorient.
Despite the injury, Gouiri made sure to attend the ceremony organized by Algerian president Abdelmadjid Tebboune honoring elite athletes, wearing a medical sling on his shoulder and proving his patriotic spirit and commitment to his country.
🚨 Walid Acherchour 🇫🇷 :
"Plus de peur que de mal pour Amine Gouiri 🇩🇿. Les examens ont été rassurants.
On lui a remis l'épaule à sa place comme face à Lorient."
