Patriots rookie WR Kyle Williams given strong NFL player comparison
NFL player comparisons are a common occurrence after every draft. One of the names that has consistently popped up in such a manner following the 2025 NFL draft has been Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams.
Williams was drafted in the third round with the 69th overall pick. He's a speedy receiver with tremendous route-running and separation abilities. There's hope that he can help spark a Patriots wide receivers room that struggled to make plays last season.
When speaking with people around the league, NFL insider Albert Breer claimed there were a lot of people who liked the draft pick of Williams by New England. He also offered up veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett as an NFL player comparison from one person he spoke with about the rookie wideout.
" A lot of people around the NFL liked the Patriots landing Washington State WR Kyle Williams in the third round. One interesting comp I got for him: Tyler Lockett."
Lockett certainly wouldn't be a bad career trajectory for Williams.
The veteran is a three-time All-Pro wide receiver with 661 receptions for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns to his name. He ranks second in Seahawks' franchise history for receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
The Patriots have struggled to develop receivers for quite some time. Having Williams produce at a level like Lockett would be a victory for the organization.
