Patriots Wire staff predictions for Patriots-Ravens Week 16 game

The New England Patriots are set to take on the Baltimore Ravens in a high-stakes Sunday Night Football game in Week 16.

A win for the Patriots would clinch a spot in the playoffs, while the Ravens are still fighting for their postseason life with a 7-7 record. The Patriots struggled in their last outing against the Buffalo Bills. They blew a 21-point lead and saw their 10-game winning streak snapped on their home field at Gillette Stadium.

Drake Maye went 14-of-23 on the afternoon, throwing for 155 yards and an interception. He was more effective on the ground, rushing for two touchdowns. However, it was not enough. Rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson did go off for 148 rushing yards and two touchdowns to help keep the Patriots in it. But they were unable to overcome a Josh Allen-led Bills team that scored five consecutive touchdown drives on New England's defense.

Meanwhile, the Ravens are coming off a huge 24-0 shutout win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week. The defense played lights out, and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson didn't have to do much. He went 8-of-12 passing in the game for 150 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Star running back Derrick Henry rushed for 100 yards on 11 carries in the game.

The Patriots lead the all-time series with the Ravens by an 11-5 margin. Their defense will need to play significantly better than it did last week for them to build on that lead. The same goes for Maye and the offense in this pivotal AFC road matchup.
