Penn State-Oregon odds, betting: 1 bettor loses $1.8 million on Penn State Nittany Lions

No. 6 Oregon headed into Happy Valley on Saturday night in a "White Out" and defeated No. 3 Penn State in double overtime 30-24 on a walk-off interception. The Ducks improved to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in Big Ten play, while Penn State suffered its first loss of the season.

One bettor had a very large rooting interest.

A bettor at the BetMGM sportsbook at The Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey wagered $1.8 million on Penn State to beat Oregon at -175 odds on Saturday morning. Yahoo Sports confirmed the legitimacy of the wager with the sportsbook director.

The bet would have won a little over $1 million if the Nittany Lions had been victorious.

Penn State was down 17-3 in the fourth quarter, but came back with 14 unanswered points (including a 7-yard Devonte Ross TD pass from Drew Allar with 30 seconds remaining) to tie the game at 17 and send it into overtime.

Both teams scored a TD on their first possession, before Oregon scored on a 25-yard TD pass from Dante Moore to Gary Bryant Jr. and Allar was picked off.

Penn State head coach James Franklin is now 4-21 against top-10 opponents in his career.
