Rams' Davante Adams named one of the best WRs drafted since 2000

Davante Adams hasn't played a snap for the Los Angeles Rams yet, but he's already considered one of the best receivers of his generation.

After Julio Jones officially retired, CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo ranked his top-10 receivers drafted since 2000. This list included Jones, a few active players as well as Hall-of-Famers like Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson.

Adams, who was drafted in 2014, finished No. 10 on DeArdo's list.

"A Pro Bowler each year from 2017-22, Adams has been a touchdown machine throughout his NFL career," DeArdo wrote. "He's had six seasons with at least 10 touchdown grabs and has paced the league in touchdown receptions on multiple occasions. Adams' 103 touchdown catches are currently 10th all time."

Here is the full top-10 list:

  1. Larry Fitzgerald (retired)
  2. Calvin Johnson (retired, Hall of Fame)
  3. Antonio Brown (retired)
  4. Julio Jones (retired)
  5. Andre Johnson (retired, Hall of Fame)
  6. Reggie Wayne (retired)
  7. Steve Smith Sr. (retired)
  8. Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
  9. DeAndre Hopkins (Baltimore Ravens)
  10. Davante Adams (Rams)

Adams should play a big role in the Rams offense this year alongside Puka Nacua with Matthew Stafford throwing him the ball. He's been a focal point of his team's offense since he became a starter for the Green Bay Packers, but now he'll likely split time with Nacua out wide. Adams' presence, though, gives the Rams one of the best receiver duos in the NFL heading into 2025.
