Ravens cut two veterans after signing new defensive talent
The Baltimore Ravens have signed two defensive players and had to part ways with a couple of experienced players from the practice squad.
The Ravens have cut running back D'Ernest Johnson and wide receiver Anthony Miller in an effort to make room for tackle Josh Tupou and defensive tackle Taven Bryan. D'Enest Johnson's most notable run was with the Cleveland Browns. In 2021, he would have 100 carries for 534 yards and 3 touchdowns. He would also account for 19 catches that year. Johnson would spend the last two years with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Anthony Miller had very high expectations after being drafted in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Bears. His rookie year was his most productive one, touchdown-wise, with 7, but he would have better numbers in terms of receptions in years two and three. In which he had 101 catches for 1,141 yards with 4 touchdowns during that span.
Both names should find work on at least another team's practice squad, with an opportunity to be activated due to injuries, overall record, or other factors.
