Revelle earns 1,200th win in Nebraska's 11-5 victory over Rutgers
Nebraska softball (30-6, 11-1) picked up a historic win on Easter Sunday against Rutgers (18-21, 3-12). The Huskers defeated the Scarlet Knights 11-5, handing head coach Rhonda Revelle her 1,200th win at Nebraska. Revelle is now 1,200-686 in her career with the Huskers and ranks third among active D1 coaches in wins at their current school.
Rutgers started the game with a two-run showing in the first. However, Nebraska responded with a seven-run surge in the bottom of the inning. The Huskers remained comfortably ahead from there, picking up their 30th win of the season.
Nebraska outhit the Scarlet Knights 14-6 on the afternoon, with nine batters delivering a hit. Lauren Camenzind drove in a three-run home run to top off the first-inning surge. Ava Kuszak picked up two RBIs after batting 3-for-4. Kacie Hoffmann, Hannah Coor, Alexis Jensen, Jesse Farrell and Bella Bacon all earned one RBI.
Jordy Frahm (10-4) struck both on offense and defense, batting 3-for-4 with two triples and pitching the final three innings to get the win. She is the fifth Husker in program history to record two triples in a game. Frahm struck out six batters and surrendered no hits and no runs. Hannah Camenzind started the game and pitched the opening inning. Jensen took over in the second and fired three strikeouts.
The Huskers hit the road for their next series, traveling up to Wisconsin. The first game is set for Friday at 7 p.m. (CT) on the Big Ten Network.
