Rob Gronkowski exits flag football classic after apparent leg injury
Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski looked unstoppable in the short time that he was on the field in Saturday's Fanatics Flag Football Classic.
The four-time Super Bowl champion linked up with legendary quarterback Tom Brady on a successful two-point conversion before limping off the field with a leg injury. Gronkowski caught the ball in-bounds before slipping and rolling to the ground. He could be heard saying he pulled his hamstring during the live telecast.
"I just pulled it right there on the slip," said Gronkowski. "My hammy."
It was a tough break for Gronkowski's team, Founders FFC, who struggled to generate offense once he left the field. He looked like a massive mismatch against the U.S. men's national team, just like he was for so many years against NFL defenses.
But at least fans got to see him link up with Brady one more time in the end zone.
